SPRAGUE DRIVES THROUGH RAIN

John Sprague of Chariestown mastered the extremely wet conditions to come in with a score of 35 points (gross 92) at Sandy Burr C.C.on Tuesday June 13th. The winning trophy and sweep money was welcome reward on completion of the 18 hole event.

The second place trophy and sweep went to Lance Cole of Dedham with.a super 33 points. Lance only scored 15 points on the front side, but came back with eighteen points for his second nine, which is good scoring in any conditions.

In third, was Mr. Consistent, David Miglietta of South Boston with 32 points. achieving 18 points on the front and letting

it slip on the back nine holes gathering a respectful 14 points on the more demanding holes.

Arthur Shepherd of Dorchester grabbed fouth place with a score of 27 points which was well below Arthur's capability. He had only 11 points on the first nine holes and managed to eat up the back nine as conditions worsened.

Nearest the pin winner was Steve Ritter of Allston who clubbed a medium iron at the short thirteenth to within 9 feet of the hole . This gave Steve the pleasure of receiving the trophy for his bold shot over the water.

Each player in the tournament was presented with a couple of golf balls for having the decency to show up and brave the very depressing weather. My thanks to those who took part.

We have a nice sized field for next week at Wayland c.c. Let's
hope the weather will be something like it should for this time
of year. I would like to remind members to arrive at course
for the events at least 20 minutes before tee time.
IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND PLEASE PHONE THE COURSE TO LET ME KNOW.
I am working hard to build B.A.G.S. into the most exclusive
society around. I know that the members we have thus far are
enjoying the service. Please try to show up whatever the weather
forecast say~lest I inform you otherwise.

There are many good things to come in the future with B.A.G.S.
