B.A.G.S. Initial Golf Tournament
June 1989 at Stow Acres CC - Lifetime member David Burke (right) holds the winners trophy. Presented by B.A.G.S. founder Alan Green.

DAVID BURKE HOLDS THE WINNER'S TROPHY
BURKE, MOONEY & GOLOBSKI IN THREE WAY TIE.
The first B.A.G.S. tournament was a huge success enjoyed by
all the members who participated in the 18 hole Stableford event.
The winning trophy was awarded to David Burke of Stow who carded a fine 90 (36 points) playing off a 22 handicap.
The runner-up trophy was awarded to Raymond Mooney of Wellesley who also scored 36 points but was beaten by the better last six hole score. Raymond carded a gross 85 off sixteen. Also in
the tie for first was Paul Golobski from Woburn who scored a gross 90 playing off 22 but was out of the trophies as Raymond beat his last six hole score. In fact, Paul looked all over the winner with just one hole to play, if Paul scored gross 7 on the last hole he would have won the trophy outright with 37 poinns, but unfortunately marred a near perfect round by ponding his approach shot at 18. In joint fourth position were David Miqlietta and Michael Murray with 31 points winning some golf balls as did all the placed men from first to fourth. The first 3 players shared the cash sweepstake equally.
Paul Golobski, Joseph Streck,& Michael Murray won golfballs
for gross birdies and a great time was had by all.
Stow Golf course was in tip top condition , superb greens, well groomed fairways and quality tees. The members generally agreed that it's worth the extra few bucks to play such a fine course. We have booked Stow again for July 12th (south) and July 25th ([north). We are now looking forward to our next event at Sandy Burr on June 13th, first game off at 8.30. Entries will close on June 6th. Please phone me with your entry NOW.
